Five Zverevo residents go on hunger strike demanding to return donations for housing and communal services
Today, in the Rostov Region, five residents of the city of Zverevo have declared an endless hunger strike demanding to return the suspended donations for housing and communal services.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Zverevo residents had already held protest actions demanding to return donations for housing and communal services. On October 1, 10 Zverevo residents declared an endless hunger strike. However, on October 19, the hunger strike was temporarily suspended.
Today, starting from 10:00 a.m. Moscow time, five pensioners have resumed the hunger strike. This was announced by Valery Dyakonov, a representative of the initiative group of the Zverevo residents, a deputy of the Zverevo City Duma.
According to Valery Dyakonov, on October 19, the protestors suspended their hunger strike "in the hope that the authorities would begin to address the issue to return donations." "However, no one has made a single step to save people. Today, we, war veterans and people with disabilities, have started an endless hunger strike against corruption and lawlessness of officials in the Rostov Region," Valery Dyakonov has emphasized.
