Two power agents wounded in special operation in Sunzha District of Chechnya

Two power agents were wounded during a special operation conducted in the Sunzha District of Chechnya. The bodies of all those killed in the operation have been identified, said a law enforcement source.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 17 the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced liquidation of four suspected militants.

"Last night in the outskirts of Sernovodskoe four members of the armed underground were blocked; they rendered armed resistance to policemen," the "Interfax" quotes a law enforcement source as saying.

According to the source, two policemen were wounded in the shootout. He pointed out that the killed persons had been identified. The suspected militants "were on the wanted list for involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs)."

Until recently, the vicinity of the Chechen-Ingush administrative border was the operation venue of the militants' grouping under command of Beslan Makhauri, a local resident, and comprising mostly residents of the Sunzha District of Chechnya and the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, said the source.

Let us note here that power agents believe that Beslan Makhauri's gang was involved in the terror act committed on September 16, 2013, near the building of the Sunzha ROVD (District Interior Division), located in the village of Sernovodskoe. Then, the explosion killed three policemen and wounded four.
