Krasnodar court extends Polyudova's arrest
On November 18, a court in Krasnodar extended, until January 21, 2015, the arrest of Darya Polyudova, a "Rot Front" activist, accused of involvement in an extremist community. This was announced by Victor Chirikov, an activist of the Krasnodar branch of the Russian Democratic Movement "Solidarity", on his Facebook page.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Polyudova was detained on August 15 in Krasnodar on suspicion of disorderly conduct; and on the following day the court sentenced her to 14 days of administrative arrest.
The court ruled to put Polyudova in custody till the end of November. On November 10, the Krasnodar Territorial Court considered her appeal against the arrest, but left the decision unchanged. The prosecutor said that a new episode appeared in the case – under Article 280.1 of the Russia's Criminal Code (public calls for actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation).
Let us note here that Polyudova was detained two days before the action with criticism of the Russian policy in Ukraine, scheduled in Krasnodar shares. Vyacheslav Martynov, another organizer of the action, was detained on August 17, at the venue of the action, after he took part in a brawl with several activists of patriotic movements.
