Suspected militants' helper detained in Sunzha District of Chechnya
A suspect of helping members of the armed underground was detained by policemen in the village of Sernovodskoe, Sunzha District of Chechnya, where power agents are conducting special actions aimed at searching for militants. According to Alikhan Kuzgov, the Secretary of the Security Council of Chechnya, the actions do not affect the territory of Ingushetia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 17 in the vicinity of the Chechen-Ingush administrative border four suspected militants were killed. Law enforcers claim that all of them were members of the grouping headed by field commander Beslan Makhauri acting in the Achkhoi-Martan and Sunzha Districts of Chechnya and were on the federal wanted list for participation in illegal armed formations (IAFs).
On November 18 in the course of operative-search activities in the village of Sernovodskoe, near which an armed incident took place on November 17, law enforcers detained a man.
"The 32-year-old local man is suspected of helping an active IAF member, who is still searched," said a source from the MIA of Chechnya.
According to his story, the detainee has confessed that in summer of 2012 he supplied a member of Makhauri's gang with foodstuffs and military clothes and equipment.
