Hideout with IEDs worth 50 kg of TNT found in Dagestan
On Thursday, November 20, law enforcers found a cache in Dagestan with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) with total power of 50 kilograms of TNT, reports the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
According to the NAC's spokesman, as a result of operative-search activities aimed to search for militants, agents of the Russian FSB received information about a possible place of the hideout; and it was found near the village of Chontaul, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan.
Two containers stuffed with explosives were found; and the total weight of the IEDs found there was about 50 kilograms of TNT (trotyl) equivalent, the TASS reports with reference to the NAC.
All the found IEDs were neutralized by FSB explosive experts. "Thus, at an early stage we managed to prevent terrorists' attempt to realize the criminal intent of committing terror acts that could cause human losses," the STRC "Stavropolye" quotes its NAC source.
