Third shift starts hunger-striking in Karaman

The composition of hunger-strikers has changed in Karaman: only Ibragim Yahyaev from the "second shift" continues his protest. The rest of them, who were hunger-striking since November 17, were replaced by other people. Now, the so-called "waiting list" of those ready to join the action includes more than 120 people.

As reported by Gamzat Khangishiev, the co-chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Congress of Caucasian Nations, on Thursday, six of the seven protesters quitted the hunger strike.

"As it turned out, they had chronic diseases that worsened during the hunger strike," Khangishiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The action continues around the clock – the hunger-strikers spend the night in a non-residential building near a new mosque in Karaman.

Khangishiev also said that on November 19 Vagid Vagidov, the head of the Joint Council of Elders of the settlements of Tarki, Kyakhulay and Alburikent, conveyed a protocol to the administration of Makhachkala of the extended meeting of village representatives, which took place on November 15 and during which they decided to make the hunger strike endless.
