Azerbaijani MoD refutes statements about special operation conducted in helicopter crash site
The statements that the armed forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) are engaged in a special operation in the area, where the Mi-24 military helicopter was downed, are untrue, said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan.
On Saturday, the NKR's Defence Army reported evacuation of the remains of the crew of the helicopter, adding that two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed during the special operation.
According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the reports about the special operation are "groundless and just another provocation."
"At the same time, the Armenian party can demonstrate to the public remains of other perished militaries stating that these are the pilots of the downed helicopter. It will be an attempt to deceive the Armenian people," the website of the Azerbaijani MoD reports.
In the version of the MoD, there were no "losses of the Azerbaijani Army" in the above area; and "the territory is under full control."
