Nariman Mirzamagomedov transferred from Dagestan is hospitalized after being beaten

A resident of Derbent, sentenced for involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs) was tortured when he was transferred to a prison. At present, he is in the medical unit of the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Chelyabinsk. This was reported by a member of the Dagestani NGO "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, Nariman Mirzamagomedov was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including Article 317 (attempt on life of a law enforcer) and Article 208 (involvement in an illegal armed formation). According to his wife Fatimat Mirzamagomedova, while being transferred to one of the high-security penal colonies of the Krasnoyarsk Territory for serving his sentence, Nariman Mirzamagomedov was severely beaten.

Members of the Dagestani NGO appealed to the Chelyabinsk Public Monitoring Commissions (PMCs) asking to check the above fact. "It has been revealed that Nariman Mirzamagomedov is in the medical unit where he receives medical treatment. And the very fact that he has been severely beaten is confirmed," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a member of the "Pravozaschita".

Oksana Trufanova, a member of the PMC, has posted on her "Live Journal" page the information describing the visit to the convicted native of Dagestan. According to the activist, when they met the prisoner, "his entire face was covered by blood, and the right half of his face, neck and chest bore fresh signs of thermal burns."
