Dagestan sets up commission to evaluate damage in Vremenny
On November 26, the commission, set up today, will start evaluating the damage caused by a counterterrorist operation (CTO) to residents of the settlement of Vremenny, Untsukul District of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10, at a meeting with Magomedgadji Zainulabidov, the envoy of the head in the Mountainous Territorial District, residents of Vremenny demanded to set up the above commission and asked to help them to move to a new residence. On November 24, Vremenny residents wrote an open letter to residents of the republic, human rights defenders and journalists asking to attend the commission meeting.
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) has been underway in the settlement of Vremenny adjacent to the village of Gimry starting from September 18, and it was started with the blocking of the village by law enforcers. Most local residents were forced to leave the village.
The decision to set up the commission was made at a sitting at the district administration, Aliaskhab Magomedov, the head of the village of Gimry, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"It's more correct to say that two commissions have been set up, which will work in parallel to quicker complete evaluating the damage. They will include local residents themselves, employees of the district administration and representatives of power agencies. Work will start tomorrow at 9 in the morning. We hope that they'll cope within four days; and until their work is over, nobody will be admitted into the settlement," said Aliaskhab Magomedov.
He noted that after the completion of this work, the Gimry Tunnel will be opened. Already, as he said, power agents are leaving the area.
