Today, the Russian Supreme Court (SC) has upheld the sentence passed to four natives of Ingushetia convicted for preparing and committing the terror act at Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 11, 2013, the Moscow Regional Court sentenced Islam Yandiev, Ilez Yandiev and Bashir Khamkhoev to life imprisonment in a special security colony. Akhmed Evloev was sentenced to 10 years in a same category colony. All of them have appealed against the verdict.
Today the SC has considered, in an open session, the appeal complaint lodged by the convicts and their advocates.
The Judicial Board has cancelled, based on the article of "sentencing for crime plurality", in respect of Yandiev brothers and Bashir Khamkhoev, an additional punishment of restriction of freedom after release. All three defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment.
The rest of the sentence against the above three and Akhmed Evloev were left unchanged; and the complaints were rejected.
