Dagestan: first group of Vremenny residents visit their homes with commission for assessing damage
The commission set up to assess the damage caused to locals during the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime has started working in the settlement of Vremenny, Untsukul District of Dagestan. The first group of residents could get into Vremenny with the commission, locals report. According to their stories, domestic appliances and furniture in their houses was broken or stolen; even the flooring was taken away.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 25, administration of Untsukul District of Dagestan made a decision to set up commission to assess the damage caused by a counterterrorist operation (CTO) to residents of the settlement of Vremenny.
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) has been underway in the settlement of Vremenny adjacent to the village of Gimry starting from September 18, and it was started with the blocking of the village by law enforcers. Most local residents were forced to leave the village.
"We enter every apartment with members of the commission, so that they could immediately see and assess the damage," one of local women told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to her version, locals are terrified by what they saw.
"Everything is upside down – the flooring was removed. There's no equipment in apartments – everything was taken away; No chandeliers – in my son's flat, just a cord sticks out of the ceiling; same with his neighbours," she said.
Another woman-resident of Vremenny also reported that she was in the settlement. According to her story, the mobile communication is blocked in order not to create panic outside the settlement.
"I don't understand what militaries had been doing there: in some apartments there are just holes in the floor – the coverage was removed. Where people had decent appliances – everything was taken away. Furniture is either broken or absent at all," said the woman.
