In Sochi, evicted Savelieva's family ask Prosecutor's Office to defend their right to housing
On November 27, the family of the Sochi resident Lyudmila Savelieva, who was evicted from the house in Akatsij Street without provision of any other housing, appealed to the Prosecutor's Office of the Adler District with a request to restore the right of all the family members for housing.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to Lyudmila Savelieva, she, her son with his wife and her minor grandchildren lost housing because of the Sochi Olympic Games. They were evicted from the barrack in Akatsij Street, and the very building was demolished because of the construction of the M-27 highway. Lyudmila Savelieva argues that her family members did not receive any compensation or housing. They have arranged a barn for their housing; however, it has also been recognized as an illegal construction. On October 31, 2014, the Court announced a decision to demolish the barn, where the family of five persons was living. On November 14, the Savelieva family appealed against the decision of the Adler District Court. On November 21, Lyudmila Savelieva reported that bailiffs demanded from her family members to leave the barn.
On November 27, the Savelieva family filed an appeal to the Prosecutor's Office of the Adler District of Sochi, which indicated that the family members were first evicted from the house and then removed from the waiting list of those in need of better housing conditions, Lyudmila Savelieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on November 27.
"After a lot of trials, we managed to restore our queue in need of better housing conditions. However, officials refuse to include my son's wife in the queue without any explanations. We have appealed to the Prosecutor's Office in the hope of justice," Lyudmila Savelieva has said.
