Vremenny residents report on considerable damage inflicted to their property during CTO

Residents of the settlement of Vremenny of the Untsukul District of Dagestan cordoned-off in the course of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) state that their houses are severely damaged as a result of the CTO. The Commission to assess the damage is finishing its activities in the village. However, it has not yet announced its findings, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 25, administration of Untsukul District of Dagestan made a decision to set up commission to assess the damage caused by a counterterrorist operation (CTO) to residents of the settlement of Vremenny.

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) was underway in the settlement of Vremenny adjacent to the village of Gimry starting from September 18, and it was started with the blocking of the village by law enforcers. Most local residents were forced to leave the village. On November 26, the counter-terrorist operation regime in the Untsukul District of Dagestan was lifted.

According to Aminat Magomedova, a resident of the settlement of Vremenny, as for November 26-27, the Commission inspected and recorded testimonies for most houses of the village.

According to the Vremenny resident, the villagers are indignant about what they saw.

"We regret there are no journalists here, since everyone should see everything with own eyes. What have they done to our houses! Many houses got holes in the walls as if being shelled. Doors of almost every house are knocked out. All the domestic equipment is lost," Aminat Magomedova has said.

According to her, people did not return to their houses, since windows of the most houses and apartments were shattered. "We need to clean our houses," the woman has said.

Aminat Magomedova has also reported that the medical station is badly damaged. "The floor coating has been removed, and there are holes in the walls and floor. Drugs and medical equipment, including the cardiograph, are removed. And we have no other medical station in our village," the woman has noted.

According to Aminat Magomedova, many houses got cracks, and three or four houses were completely destroyed. "We were told that seven militants were killed during the CTO. Were they killed right inside the houses? We do not even know who those people were," the woman has said.

Officials from the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) did not confirm the information about seven militants killed in the course of the CTO and advised the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent to address the question to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments from the NAC.
