At the trial on Volgograd terror acts prosecutor demands 20 years in prison for Magomedov and Dadaev
Today in Volgograd, at the trial on the terror acts, the prosecutor demanded 20 years of imprisonment for the defendants Ibragim Magomedov and Alautdin Dadaev each, and 3.5 years – for Batirov brothers, said Said Ibragimov, the defender of Magomedov.
On December 29 and 30, 2013, Volgograd was struck by two terror acts, which killed 34 people (apart from two suicide bombers) and injured over 70 other people.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that four natives of Dagestan, namely, the brothers Magomednabi and Tagir Batirov, Alautdin Dadaev and Ibragim Magomedov were accused of committing the Volgograd explosions. At the trial, the Batirovs refused to testify, while Alautdin Dadaev and Ibragim Magomedov stated their innocence.
Murad Magomedov, the advocate for Alautdin Dadaev, said that today the court held the judicial pleadings. "The prosecutor demanded 3.5 years in prison for Batirov brothers for participation in illegal armed formations (IAFs); while Dadaev and Magomedov are accused of involvement in IAFs and aiding the terror acts in Volgograd – by consolidating the punishments the prosecutor demanded 20 years in prison for each of them," said the defender.
According to his story, "the prosecution failed to present any evidence of Dadaev's guilt." "It was not clarified what particular Dadaev's actions had helped to commit the terror acts in Volgograd, The case of the explosions has not been investigated. The real persons who met the suicide bombers were not established; and they were not brought to justice. The trial now staged in Volgograd is an imitation of the inquiry," said Murad Magomedov, adding that the sentencing is scheduled for the next court session to be held on December 5.
