In October 2014, 55 persons fell victim to armed conflict in North Caucasus

 

At least 55 people were victims of the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in October 2014, of whom 36 people were killed and 19 wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Dagestan is the leader by the number of victims; here 23 people suffered in October, of whom 21 people perished and two were wounded. During armed clashes and in counterterrorist special operations 18 alleged members of the armed underground were killed. As a result of attacks of unidentified persons and during armed clashes three law enforcers were killed and two others wounded.

In October, in Chechnya, during the armed conflict 22 people suffered, of whom eight were killed and 14 wounded. During armed clashes and in special operations, as well as a result of suicide bombing, three suspected members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were killed. During a shootout with power agents, one militant, according to employees of law enforcement bodies, was wounded. As a result of a terror act, five law enforcers perished and 13 were wounded.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, in the armed conflict in October 10 people suffered: seven were killed and three wounded. In the course of armed clashes and special operations, five alleged IAF members were killed. During shootouts with IAF members and as a result of a bomb explosion, two power agents were killed and three wounded.

In October 2014, no victims of the armed conflict were recorded in Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania and the Stavropol Territory.
