KBR's Prosecutor's Office demands through court from Ministry of Construction to improve veterans' living conditions

The Prosecutor's Office of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has submitted 18 claims against the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia, in which she demands to allocate funds to improve the living conditions of veterans.

The grounds for the litigation were in the check conducted by the Prosecutor's Office as to how the above Ministry fulfils in the territory of the republic the Presidential Decree "On Providing Veterans of 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War with Housing" and the Federal Law "On Veterans".

The "Caucasian Knot" reported in April that 18 veterans, living in the republic, received certificates for the right to receive housing subsidies. However, during the prosecutor's check it was revealed that veterans did not receive the due payments, as the above Ministry of Construction had failed to transfer the funds to the republic's budget, said the website of the KBR's Prosecutor's Office.

On November 28, Yuri Kokov, the head of the KBR, proposed to distribute the patronage over the surviving veterans living in the republic, among the republic's ministers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the republic's authorities decided to establish in 2015 a social rehabilitation centre for war veterans, invalids and veterans' widows in the Elbrus District of the KBR. The opening of the centre is scheduled for early May 2015.
