Stavropol Territory: advocates of Lyudmila Bogatenkova report that she receives threats
Lyudmila Bogatenkova, the chair of the Stavropol Committee of Soldiers' Mothers "Prikumye Mothers", has received threats from unidentified persons.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Bogatenkova is accused of a large-scale fraud.
Lyudmila Bogatenkova investigated circumstances of Russian soldiers' deaths during combat actions in Ukraine in July and August 2014. In August, she delivered information about nine Russian soldiers, who were declared dead in the Rostov Region, to the Presidential Human Rights Council.
On November 30, unidentified persons threatened to repeatedly arrest her if she continued her human rights activities, Bogatenkova reported herself.
She believes that the pressure continues in order to halt the activities of her committee. She is sure that threats could be initiated "only from law enforcement bodies."
Andrei Sabinin, a lawyer from the Association AGORA, said that Bogatenkova's advocates had filed applications about the received threats to the Regional Department of the FSB and the Prosecutor's Office, asking law enforcement bodies to ensure the protection of Lyudmila Bogatenkova, said Vitaly Zubenko, one of the advocates.
