In Dagestan, two men killed in shootout with policemen
In the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan two men were killed after they opened fire on the policemen who pursued them. One of them was identified as a brother of Makhmudov, an earlier slain Qadi (Sharia judge) of the "Dido" grouping, said a local law enforcement source.
The incident occurred at night on December 6 in the vicinity of the village of Shushanovka.
According to a source from the MIA of Dagestan, policemen tried to stop a speeding Lada Priora car, but the driver ignored their demand. "In the course of the pursuit, the bandits opened fire on the policemen. Law enforcers managed to get close to the car and neutralize them by return fire," the RIA "Dagestan" quotes the MIA source.
Nobody was hurt among the law enforcers.
Policemen have identified one of the casualties as a local resident Khabib Makhmudov, born in 1974. According to preliminary information, he cooperated closely with the "Kizilyurt" grouping. Earlier, in a special operation, power agents killed his brother Magomed Makhmudov, who was in the post of the Qadi in the "Dido" grouping, the "AIF-Dagestan" reports citing its MIA source.
