Restoration work in Grozny conducted around the clock

The restoration works on the buildings of the House of Press and School No. 20, which were destroyed during the special operation in Grozny on December 4, are continued day and night. The authorities plan to reopen the House of Press before the end of this year, and School No. 20 – after the New Year holidays.

On the night of December 4 militants attacked policemen in Grozny. The Chechen capital was put under the counterterrorist operation regime. Most of the attackers took refuge in the House of Press, and some of them – in School No. 20; both buildings were blocked. According to latest reports, the fight resulted in 11 killed members of the armed underground and 14 lost power agents; other 36 law enforcers were wounded.

"The repair works began in the House of Press and School No. 20 in fact on December 5. Teams of workers are working around the clock, for which purpose power was supplied to the buildings, and other necessary conditions were created. To date, the cleaning of the rooms of debris and burned-out structures is nearly completed; then, the restoration works will start immediately," a source from the administration of the Chechen capital told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Monitoring of the progress of works is carried out on a daily basis, officials assert. The funds for the restoration of the burned down buildings of the House of Press and the school were allocated by the regional public fund named after Akhmad Kadyrov.
