In Yerevan, three non-ruling parties organized a rally on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. Participants of the rally have named social policy, high taxes, and the level of poverty as main problems in Armenia, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The rally was organized by the factions of the "Armenian National Congress" (ANC), the "Prosperous Armenia", and the "Heritage" Parties. However, of the leaders of the above political parties, only Raffi Ovannisyan, the leader of the "Heritage" Party, took part in the rally.
The protesters were chanting: "Free and Independent Armenia" and "Serzhik, Go Away!"; besides, they were holding in their hands the posters reading: "No Authoritarianism, No Serzh Sargsyan's Regime."
Elinar Vardanyan, the Chair of the Commission on Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly, an MP from the faction of the "Prosperous Armenia", has declared the need to unite and fight "against injustice prevailing in the country."
