Magomed Aliev, treated in intensive care unit in Stavropol, driven out of coma
The health condition of Magomed Aliev, who was detained on suspicion of aiding terrorism and taken to hospital from SIZO (pre-trial prison) with severe mutilations, has become better, said his relatives. Doctors have driven him out of the artificial coma; and on December 15 they will decide on his further stay under intensive.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Aliev, a native of Dagestan and a student of the Stavropol Medical Academy, was detained on November 21 on suspicion of recruiting mercenaries for going to war in Syria. On November 27, the young man was taken from SIZO to the hospital; and doctors removed a pen out of his eye. According to the local department of the FSIN (Russian Federal Penitentiary Service), Aliev tried to commit suicide. His relatives believe that agents tried to kill him, and ask to open a criminal case on causing grievous bodily harm to him.
According to Aliev's sister Djamilya Ibragimova, employees of the FSIN come to the hospital every day and insist on Magomed's transfer to the prison hospital, although the latter has no proper conditions.
As for the check of the fact of causing bodily harm to her brother, there is no news from the Investigating Committee, said Djamilya. "Ten days have elapsed since the start of the check, but we are not informed about its results. We know from the media that they had confiscated some video record from the SIZO, but they didn't show it to us and said nothing," she said.
