Alleged militant leader killed in Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan
In the course of a special operation conducted in the village of Gurbuki, Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, the leader of one of militant groupings was killed, said the Russia's National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on Friday, December 12, during a special operation in Gurbuki five suspected militants were killed.
"Among them, one of the leaders of the central sector of the bandit underground acting in the territory of Dagestan has been pre-identified," the NAC has stated.
According to power agents, the killed militant had been involved in a number of terror acts, namely, murders of Imams, attempts on life of law enforcers and extortions from businessmen. "Besides, it is known that he was involved in the terror acts in 2013 in Volgograd and the killing of hunters in the Karabudakhkent District in 2012," says the NAC.
The house, where the alleged militants were hiding, contained plenty of automatic firearms, grenade launchers and ammunition to them, as well as ready to use improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which could be used by bandits for committing terror acts, the TASS reports.
