FSB confirms death of "Imarat Kavkaz" leader in Dagestan
Murad Zalitinov, a former head of the Kadar unit of "Imarat Kavkaz", was killed on December 12 in a special operation in Dagestan, said the press service of the Russian FSB.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 12 in the village of Gurbuki, Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, law enforcers blocked a group of suspected militants in a private house. Power agents stormed the house and killed five persons, including a woman.
"Among the neutralized bandits we identified Murad Zalitinov, also known as "Abu Takhir", born in 1984, who was the leader of the 'Kadar' bandit grouping and in 2013 headed the so-called 'central sector of Vilayat Dagestan' – a structural unit of the international terrorist organization 'Imarat Kavkaz'," the "Interfax" quotes the spokesman of the FSB.
In 2011, Zalitinov was put on the federal wanted list and went underground. According to special services, under the name of Abu Takhir he was responsible for training suicide bombers. The FSB believes that he organized the explosions of the suicide bomber Madina Alieva in Makhachkala in May 2013 and terror acts in Volgograd in October-December 2013.
