Native of Dagestan kidnapped in Stavropol, his relatives assert
Djamal Makhmudov, a native of Dagestan, disappeared in Stavropol after a search of his house. He is a figurant in the case of recruitment and financing the militants travelling to Syria, his relatives were told at the Centre to Combat Extremism. During a week, his relatives could not locate him and appealed to law enforcement bodies about his kidnapping.
December 8 was the last day when relatives saw Djamal Makhmudov, born in 1983. His wife Irina Makhmudova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on that day they saw spying after their car; and a few minutes before her husband became unavailable for communication, he called her and said that he was driving up to the house; however, instead of him she saw arriving law enforcers who came and searched the house.
Makhmudov is an individual entrepreneur and owns a shop of Islamic goods. According to his wife, the interest of power agents to her husband has to do with recent detentions of young believers. The situation with the detention of one of them, Magomed Aliev, was earlier reported by the "Caucasian Knot".
