In Gudermes, locals report destruction of two houses of militants' families
Residents of the city of Gudermes have reported the destruction, within the past two days, of two private houses inhabited by relatives of the militants killed during the attack on Grozny on December 4. According to journalist Elena Milashina, families with young children are now homeless.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the militants' attack on Grozny on December 4 several houses that belonged to families of members of the armed underground were destroyed in different regions of the republic.
At night on December 16, in Gudermes, armed men demolished a private house and drove its inhabitants out into the street, not allowing to take anything with them, said a resident of the city named Ramzan.
Tonight, in the city, they demolished a house inhabited by an old woman, her son and his wife and three children aged 4 years, 1.5 years and 6 months, Elena Milashina wrote on her page on the Facebook. According to her story, one day before in Gudermes another house was demolished, which had been inhabited by elderly man and woman, their son, his wife and a baby.
The journalist has turned to Ukrainian rights defenders, and found out that Ukraine is ready to accept Chechen refugees; activists of one of organizations in Norway are ready to help them; and first donations have already begun to arrive to the accounts of the people who lost their housing.
