Defence of figurants in case of Volgograd terror acts appeals against verdict
The advocates of the natives of Dagestan, convicted for helping the organizers of the terror acts committed on the 2013 New Year 2013 in Volgograd, have appealed against the verdict of the district court. The consideration of appeal complaints will take place not earlier than mid-January, said the court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that four natives of Dagestan were accused of involvement in the Volgograd terror acts. On December 5 the Dzerzhinsky District Court found Alautdin Dadaev and Ibragim Magomedov guilty of participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF) and facilitating terrorist activities and sentenced each of them to 19 years in prison. The brothers Magomednabi and Tagir Batirov were sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in colony each on charges of aiding IAF members.
The advocates of Batirov brothers disagree with a part of the civil action presented to their clients, a source from the above court told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The complaints will be considered not before mid-January 2015, he added.
Let us remind you that at the trial Dadaev and Magomedov refused to plead guilty. According to prosecutors, they rendered assistance to the so-called "Kadar" militants' grouping, which was created in Dagestan and in late 2013 plotted terror acts in Volgograd.
