Buynaksk Salafi mosque-goers taken to police
On Friday, after the Juma namaz in Buynaksk, policemen detained several parishioners of the Salafi mosque, said a local resident. Several mosque-goers were brought to the police. In his turn, a source from the Buynaksk GOVD (City Interior Division), assured that all the believers will be released after checking their IDs.
The message about the detention of mosque-goers was received by the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot".
"Usually, quite a lot of believers come here for the Friday namaz; not all of them can get inside; many stay and pray outside in the street. Today, there were not so many people; somewhat by one third less than usual. Apparently, some information has leaked out about a police operation; therefore, many decided not to come," a Buynaksk resident said.
The on duty unit of the GOVD has confirmed that several mosque-goers had been delivered to them.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about detentions of mosque-goers in Dagestan. Thus, on October 31 in Makhachkala, power agents surrounded the mosque situated in Hungarian Warriors Streets and began detaining believers. As a result, a brawl broke out; and five people were taken to the police.
