Turkic conference in Grozny presents educational projects for students and Lyceum pupils
At the International Conference in Grozny "Terek Turks as Cultural Bridge of Chechen Republic with Turkic World" Kumyk organization presented curricula for training Kumyk students at the leading universities of the Turkic countries and a project of a boarding Lyceum to be opened near the city of Gudermes. As stated by Ramazan Alpaut, the vice president of the Moscow-based Kumyk organization named "Ozden", the Turkic population in Russia has increased, including due to incorporation of Crimea to Russia.
The conference was organized by the Association of Turkic Nations of Chechnya, which was established at the initiative of the Chechen Ministry for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information.
"The self-organization 'Ozden' has put forward the idea of reformatting Kumyk NGOs to create a platform of them for Russia's partnership with the Turkic world, and for ethnic, cultural and commercial projects," said Ramazan Alpaut.
In his opinion, the conference was a regional-level testing event for the idea of launching a dialogue of Turkic countries with regions of Russia, Kumyk society activists and the authorities.
The NGO "Ozden" presented the programme "Education of Kumyk students at leading universities of Turkic countries". Ruslan Salakhbekov, another vice president of the "Ozden", said that the project was launched this year; and several first students have entered the universities of Ankara, Istanbul and Eskisehir to study various specialties.
