Recruits from Chechnya beaten in North Ossetia, their relatives assert
On parade ground of a military unit in North Ossetia, recruits from Chechnya were beaten by unidentified men. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a brother of one of the recruits.
According to the source, the incident occurred on December 20, during the rehearsal of the oath of enlistment ceremony.
"My brother told me that during the rehearsal, several persons in sportswear entered the protected territory of the military unit and started beating the guys from the ChechenRepublic. Meanwhile, the military men, who witnessed the incident, did nothing to stop the lawlessness," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Ruslan, the brother of one of the recruits.
After the incident, officers from the military commandant's office of the Chechen Republic arrived in North Ossetia and visited the military unit of the 58th army, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a female relative of one of the victims.
According to the woman, the officers from the Chechen commandant's office "recommended the guys to say that the attackers were beating everyone and not only recruit from Chechnya." "Meanwhile, only natives of the ChechenRepublic suffered in the incident," said the female relative of one of the victims.
