Nobody lived in the house demolished by power agents in Chechen village of Koshkeldy
The house in the village of Koshkeldy, Gudermes District of Chechnya, belonging to a militant's family and demolished on December 19 was uninhabited, rights defenders from the Joint Mobile Group (JMG) told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to their version, the Shabanov family, who owned the house, left the country more than a year ago.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on December 18, in the village of Koshkeldy, Gudermes District of Chechnya, a house of the family of a member of the armed underground was demolished. Power agents destroyed the house of the Shabanov family, locals have specified.
After the information became known, Koshkeldy was visited by Sergey Babinets and Dmitry Dimitrov, the members of the JMG of the Committee against Torture (CaT), who continue gathering data on the situation in Chechnya,
"With regard to whether the Shabanov family had any relation to bandit formations, and whether someone of its members had joined militants, there is no information," Sergey Babinets told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The house in Koshkeldy is at least the 11th house of militants' relatives demolished in Chechnya after the December 5 Ramzan Kadyrov's statement about the introduction of the principle of collective responsibility, under which houses of militants' relatives will be demolished. However, on December 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that nobody, including the head of Chechnya, has the rights to pre-trial executions.
