Three persons killed in special operation in KChR

Three militants were killed in the abandoned summer cottage settlement in the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR); the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime in the republic has been lifted, power agents report.

The CTO regime was introduced in the republic today at midday. It covered a number of settlements of the Adyge-Khabl and Prikubansky Districts and the northern part of Cherkessk, the capital of the KChR.

According to the source from the NAC, three militants "were killed in a brief shootout in a ruined house in the abandoned summer cottage settlement of the KChR."

"An examination of the venue near the site of the skirmish resulted in detection of a car that belonged to the bandits, which contained an improvised explosion device (IED) got triggered, as well as firearms, grenades, and a large quantity of ammunition. There are no victims among civilians and law enforcers," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a NAC's source.

The CTO regime was cancelled at 4:00 p.m., Anna Lyzina, the press secretary of the Russia's FSB Department for the KChR, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
