Media at least seven times reported death of Abu Omar al-Shishani
Before the appearance of the message about the capture of one of the leaders of the "Islamic State" (IS), a native of Georgia Abu Omar al-Shishani (Tarkhan Batirashvili), mass media had at least seven times reported about his death. The same was done by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the capture by the US Special Forces of al-Shishani near the city of Riyadh in the Kirkuk Province became known on December 27. They also captured two IS field commanders. In the course of a special operation, seven militants were killed, the TASS reported with reference to the EIN News Agency. The three captured militants were taken to the city of Sulaimaniya in north-eastern Iraq.
Al-Shishani became widely known after in 2013 he headed the "Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar" grouping that was at war in Syria. According to the Internet sources close to North-Caucasian underground, the grouping comprised militants from "Imarat Kavkaz", as well as natives from Russia, Ukraine, Crimea and CIS member-countries.
In the same year al-Shishani became, after the death in Mosul of the former commander al-Anbar, the leader of the IS grouping in the northern sector of Syria.
On September 24, 2014, media reported that al-Shishani had announced a reward for the murder of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and his retinue. The list includes 12 members of the Chechen leadership.
According to calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", the Kadyrov's statement about Batirashvili's death was the fifth message of the kind since February 2013.
Various sources, including the Russian FSB, have confirmed that militants from Russia are fighting for the "Islamic State", says the document prepared by the "Caucasian Knot": "Caucasians in the ranks of IS (ISIL)".
