Disabled Urkunov asks court to Sochi to recognize his right to garage

In his application submitted to the court in Sochi, a disabled 75-year-old Vadim Urkunov claims his right to the garage and land plot. In his opinion, the refusal of the Mayoralty to register his property rights is unjustified.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vadim Urkunov had complained about the officials, who for 10 years denied his right to legalize the garage built on the land plot allocated to him next to the house, in which he lives. In October 2015 Urkunov filed an application the prosecutor of Sochi demanding to protect his rights for the garage. However, the Prosecutor's Office did not support the invalid's application.

The Central District Court of Sochi has confirmed the fact of Urkunov's application.

"Within five days, the application will be considered by one of the judges and appointed for consideration," said a court official.

Urkunov himself said that he had decided to "continue defending his rights in court, as officials of the Mayoralty had refused to settle the issue peacefully."

In his statement, Urkunov pointed out that he had been possessing and using the garage and the land plot "constantly and conscientiously for almost 20 years." However, the Sochi Mayoralty claims that Urkunov has no documents that confirm his ownership of the property.
