Alleged recruiter of "Imarat Kavkaz" arrested in Saratov
The Frunze District Court of Saratov has placed into custody a suspect of recruiting people to the "Imarat Kavkaz Vilayat Dagestan", which is recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization.
According to investigators, the man, earlier convicted for organizing an illegal armed formation (IAF), or participation therein, from March to October 2015 in Saratov "exerted psychological pressure on a resident of the Saratov Region in order to involve him in IAF 'Imarat Kavkaz Vilayat Dagestan' active in Northern Caucasus region," says the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Saratov Region.
A criminal case was opened against the man under the article of enticement and involvement in an IAF, not envisaged by federal law, which assumes from 5 to 10 years in prison.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on February 4, the Moscow Regional Court at a visiting session in Chelyabinsk passed a sentence on charges of involvement in the terrorist organization "Hizb-ut-Tahrir", banned in Russia, to five Muslims, including a native of Dagestan Orifdjan Mirov.
