Talekh Khasmamedov's mother reports her son placed into dungeon

Talekh Khasmamedov, the head of the organization "Rights and Law", was placed into the colony dungeon, after the wife issued a statement about his serious health problems, said Talekh's mother. The Alliance "Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners" has called on the Azerbaijani authorities to stop the inhuman treatment of Khasmamedov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the July 22, 2015, Talekh Khasmamedov was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of beating up a man. In protest, Khasmamedov went on hunger strike and cut his veins. On February 11, his wife Fakhriya appealed to the bosses of the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan with a demand to provide medical care to her husband.

Today, Gyulbuta Khasmamedova, Talekh's mother, said that her son had been placed into a dungeon, "allegedly, for a fight with his cellmate." According to the woman, the family believes that the life of her son in the colony is in danger.

The fear for Khasmamedov's health is reasonable, believes Ogtay Gyulalyev, the head of the Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners". According to his story, his alliance is addressing the Azerbaijani public and mass media with a request to draw attention to the health of Talekh Khasmamedov and urge state structures to interfere in the situation.

Let us remind you that on February 11, Iftikhar Gurbanov, Deputy Head of the Chief Medical Department of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) of Azerbaijan, promised that his Department would react to the application of Khasmamedov's wife.
