Police detains five more activists in Yerevan

The activists detained at the rally in support of Vardges Gaspari have been taken to the Kentron police station.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today a group of activists held a rally in support of detained Gaspari near the residence of the President of Armenia located in Bagramyan Avenue. Police detained seven of them.

The today's detention of five other activists was reported by Artush Chibukhchyan, a member of the initiative group "No to robbery!", who said that after the detention of the first protesters, a group of other activists held a similar rally in front of the president's residence. However, the police suppressed the action in Bagramyan Avenue.

Let us remind you that Vardges Gaspari is suspected of insulting a policeman and a judge. The defence of the activist has filed an appeal complaint demanding to overturn the arrest decision.

Today, according to advocates, it became known that Gaspari was beaten up in prison and refused to eat and drink. The Ministry of Justice has reported that he had stopped his hunger strike.
