Two policemen wounded in a shootout in Buynaksk District

In Dagestan, unidentified persons opened fire on inspectors of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS), who tried to stop a passenger car to check the documents. As a result, two policemen got gunshot wounds.

According to the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), at about 10:00 p.m. of April 14, near the village of Nizhny Djengutai of the Buynaksk District, DPS inspectors tried to stop a VAZ-2112 car, which violated traffic rules. However, the driver did not stop, and fire was opened from the car.

As a result, two policemen got gunshot wounds, and the attackers managed to escape, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to a Dagestani MIA's official.

According to the Dagestani MIA, the fire on the policemen was opened by two persons: the driver and a passenger of the car.

The wounded policemen were hospitalized in moderate condition, the "Interfax-South" reports today with reference to the Dagestani MIA.
