Makhachkala: advocate not allowed visiting mosque spokesman, his relatives assert

Magomed Magomedov, the spokesman of the mosque located in Hungarian Fighters Street, detained on May 11, is being kept at the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Soviet District of Makhachkala. The advocate, invited to protect the detainee's interests, was unable to visit his client, report family members of Magomed Magomedov.

Let us remind you that the detention of Magomed Magomedov, the spokesman of the Salafi mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street, was reported by mosque officials on May 11. During the detention, law enforcers planted weapons to Magomed Magomedov, a mosque official told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Magomed Magomedov was detained near his house in Makhachkala by armed men in masks, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a detainee's relative. He has also added that the relatives of Magomed Magomedov were not informed about where he had been taken.

"They have just taken him away by forcing him into a car, and they did not tell us where and why they were taking him," said the relative of Magomed Magomedov.

The relatives have managed to reveal the whereabouts of the detainee after a call of Magomed Magomedov himself, who reported that he was being kept at the Soviet ROVD of Makhachkala.

The detainee's relative has expressed his confidence that weapons were planted on Magomed Magomedov. "We are sure that the weapon was planted to him as a usual," said the man.

Meanwhile, the advocate was not allowed to visit Magomed Magomedov. Since the evening, the friend and relatives of Magomed Magomedov stay near the ROVD building. "Neither they, nor the advocate, invited to protect the interests of the detainee, are allowed to visit him," said the source.
