Magomed Magomedov charged with possession of weapons

Today, Magomed Magomedov, an employee of a Makhachkala mosque, detained by power agents, was officially charged with illegal possession of weapons, explosives and narcotic drugs. This was reported by his advocate Shamil Isaev after he visited his client today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Magomedov, the spokesman of the Salafi mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street, was detained on May 11. During the detention, law enforcers planted weapons to Magomed Magomedov, a mosque official told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The advocate asserts that from the moment of detention "Magomedov was under pressure"; however, "he refused to plead guilty." "He said during the interrogation, at which I was present, that at detention, a grenade, ammunition and drugs were planted on him. At the same time, policemen detained him on May 11, but the detention protocol was drawn up only today. I asked to correct that in the protocol," Isaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Meanwhile, today power agents conducted another search of Magomed Magomedov's house, said Tagir Magomedov, Magomed's brother. According to his story, "nothing illegal was found during the search."

"One of the power agents, who made the search, hinted that my brother was too active: gave various interviews to the press, and communicated with federal mass media. Apparently, someone in Makhachkala didn't like it very much," the detainee's brother told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
