Yerevan: activist Alek Enigomshyan arrested on suspicion of aiding rebels
Alek Enigomshyan, a member of the "Constituent Parliament", who was delayed at the protest action held in Yerevan on July 27, was arrested on suspicion of aiding in the seizure of the police regiment building. His advocate has reported on the violations committed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 27, supporters of the opposition held a rally in Yerevan. At the entry to Khorenatsi Street, they demanded to release all activists and to allow the rebels, who seized the police regiment, to join them. The police claimed that it was illegal to hold rallies in Khorenatsi Street. The activists reported on detentions.
Investigators suspect Alek Enigomshyan of aiding in the seizure of the police regiment building, reports advocate Nikolai Bagdasaryan. He has noted that Alek Enigomshyan is being kept at the detention facility of the National Security Service of Armenia.
Nikolai Bagdasaryan has informed the Armenian Office of the "Radio Liberty" that violations took place during the detention of Alek Enigomshyan. The advocate has also added that he appealed to the Ombudsman.
