In Yerevan, 15 persons wounded during seizure of police building still stay in hospitals

In Yerevan, 15 persons injured during the seizure of the police regiment building still stay in hospitals. Four of them, including one policeman and three members of the group "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun), stay in the resuscitation ward. The condition of the policeman is assessed as extremely serious, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by officials from the press service of Armenian Ministry of Health.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 17, supporters of the "Constituent Parliament" seized the building of the police patrol-and-post service. On the day of the assault, a police officer was killed, and six other persons were injured. On July 31, the rebels surrendered.

"Policeman Gagik Mkrtchyan still stays in critical condition. He has undergone four surgeries. He is connected to the apparatus for artificial lung ventilation," an official from the Armenian Ministry of Health notes.

According to him, "the health state of the wounded members of the 'Sasna Tsrer' shows the positive dynamics, and they stay in satisfactory condition."

On August 5, 17-year-old Sayat Arutyunyan was discharged from hospital. He lost his eye during the dispersal of the protesters by the police, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the medical centre "Saint Gregory the Illuminator".

According to Gagik Manukyan, the deputy head physician of the medical centre, the hospital has assumed the cost of surgery to place a prosthetic eye.
