Protesters demand to return land to Dagestani village

Today, in Dagestan, residents of the village of Shushiya of the Novolaksky District have gathered for a rally with the demand to return to the village 16.7 hectares of land plots. According to the villagers, they are waiting for the district leaders for talks.

According to organizers, the rally involves about 50 people. The rally was organized with the demand to return to the village 16.7 hectares of land plots, allocated for agricultural activities, and to distribute the land plots among the villagers in the form of shares.

"We moved to these lands 12 years ago. There are no manufacturing enterprises here, and people stay without work. We only hope for land plots; however, they do not allocate them to us, although they belong to us by law," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Elmira Bagirchaeva, a participant of the rally.
