Igor Stenin complains about too frequent cases of punishment in penal colonies

According to Igor Stenin, the leader of the movement "Russians of Astrakhan", since September 9, he spent at least 42 days in punishment cells and transit cells.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that nationalist Igor Stenin was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a settlement-colony for his repost in the social network "VKontakte" of an extremist article about the war in Ukraine. At trial, Igor Stenin pleaded not guilty.

"On September 22, at the Astrakhan penal colony No. 10, I was recognized as a 'malicious offender' and placed for seven days in ShIZO (a punishment cell) for the fact that I allegedly had a mobile phone. I had not enough time to challenge those actions of the penal colony administration. On September 26, they signed a special order for my transportation to the Tambov Region," Igor Stenin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"On October 27, I was transported to Tambov where at SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 1, I was placed along in a 13-seat cell. Then, on November 7, I was taken to the colony-settlement No. 2 of the Kirsanov District of the Tambov Region, where on November 9, I was placed in ShiZO for 10 days," said Igor Stenin.

According to him, once again, he "was placed in ShIZO on November 21."

Let us remind you that the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" found the criminal proceedings against Igor Stenin as politically motivated.
