Journalist Magomed Magomedov treats his prosecution as power agents' revenge
The Dagestani journalist Magomed Magomedov believes that behind his prosecution there is a group of policemen, who wanted to take revenge on him for his human rights activities and the scandal with drunken law enforcers in the mosque.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 12, the court extended by two months the house arrest of Magomedov, who is accused of illegal possession of weapons and drugs. He worked as an official spokesman of the Salafi mosque in Makhachkala located in Omarov Street (earlier – Hungarian Warriors Street), and was a journalist of the edition named "Novoe Delo".
According to Magomedov, policemen admitted themselves that the reason for his prosecution was in his human rights and journalistic activities.
Shortly before his detention, Magomedov took part in the roundtable on the topic "IS – as a marketing move" (IS – the "Islamic State" is banned in Russia). There, he raised the issue of the so-called "prophylactic registering".
The Magomedov's reference states that he had called for rallies and ran propaganda in social networks.
Magomedov also said that during his detention on May 11 he was beaten up by policemen.
