In Dagestan, woman complains about illegal detention of her husband

Sirazhudin Akhmedov, a resident of Kaspiysk, disappeared on December 31, 2016. And only on the second day after his disappearance, his family members found out that the man was kept at a police station on suspicion of illegal possession of explosives. Yulia Kalinina, the wife of Sirazhudin Akhmedov, said that he was detained on fabricated grounds.

According to the woman, on January 1, she found out that her husband was being kept at the GOVD (City Interior Division) of Kaspiysk.

"I was told that policemen were carrying out a raid, and they noticed my husband close to one of the banquet halls. They searched him and allegedly found a grenade," said Yulia Kalinina.

The woman has added that the family members hired an advocate. However, he has not been able to visit Sirazhudin Akhmedov.

Yulia Kalinina has noted that her husband was recently put on a police prevention registration list, since he wore a beard. "Then they also put me on their prevention registration list, since I wear hijab," the woman has added.
