In December 2016, 39 persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In December of 2016, at least 39 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of them, 34 people were killed, and five others were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

In Dagestan, 24 people fell victim to the armed conflict in December 2016. Of them, 20 people were killed, and four others were wounded. As a result of attacks committed by members of the armed underground, four law enforcers were killed, and four others were wounded. 16 suspected members of the armed underground were killed in the course of special operations and armed clashes with law enforcers.

In Chechnya, in December 2016, 15 people fell victim to the armed conflict. Of them, 14 were killed, and one person was wounded. In a series of armed clashes which occurred in Grozny on December 17-18, four law enforcers were killed and one was wounded, and 10 suspected members of the armed underground were killed.

In Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania, and the Stavropol Territory, no victims to the armed conflict were registered in December 2016.
