Imam Khamzat Chumakov discharged from Ingush hospital
The health status of Khamzat Chumakov, Imam of the Nasyr-Kort mosque, has stabilized; however, he needs further medical treatment in a specialized clinic. This was reported by a brother of the Imam.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 14, Khamzat Chumakov, an Ingush authoritative preacher, was hospitalized with thrombophlebitis of his lower limbs (an inflammatory vascular disease provoked by formation of a blood clot, note of the "Caucasian Knot"). In August, the Imam went to Georgia for medical treatment; however, he was refused in crossing the Russian-Georgian border under the pretext of the inclusion of his name in the police prevention registration list.
According to Ibragim, a brother of Khamzat Chumakov, the Imam was discharged from hospital on January 24.
Ibragim has also added that the Imam wanted to go to Georgia for medical treatment, since he had an agreement with a well-known specialist in vascular surgery, who worked in Georgia.
According to advocate Visit Tsoroev, at present, there are no grounds to challenge the refusal to Khamzat Chumakov to leave Ingushetia for Georgia.
The advocate has also noted that the Russian legislation does not contain any rules to refuse people from police registration lists to cross the Russian border.
