Zelimkhan Bakharchiev's father evicted from Chechnya buried in Ingushetia
Aslanbek Bakharchiev, the seriously ill father of suspected militant Zelimkhan Bakharchiev, expelled from a Chechen village, died in Kalmykia and was buried in Ingushetia. This was reported by residents of the republic. According to them, the authorities did not allow family members of Aslanbek Bakharchiev to bury him in Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 21, 2016, in the village of Prigorodnoye in the Grozny District of Chechnya, a gathering of local residents was held. It was attended by the Assistant to the Chechen leader and officials from Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Participants of the gathering demanded to evict from the republic the family members of Zelimkhan Bakharchiev, suspected by the police of organizing attacks on Grozny on December 17 and 18, 2016. All the men from the family of Zelimkhan Bakharchiev left their houses after the gathering.
According to residents of the village of Prigorodnoye of the Grozny District, after the eviction from their native village, the Bakharchiev family members "found a temporary shelter at their relatives' place in Kalmykia." On February 8, Aslanbek Bakharchiev, a seriously ill elder of the Bakharchiev family died in Kalmykia. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by one of the residents of the village of Prigorodnoye.
According the source, the Bakharchiev family members have appealed to the Chechen authorities with a request to allow the burial of Aslanbek Bakharchiev in Chechnya, but they were refused. On February 9, Aslanbek Bakharchiev was buried in Ingushetia, reported a resident of the village of Prigorodnoye.
