Man suspected of Amirkhan Kokurkhoev's murder leaves Russia

According to a source, Rizvan Kotiev, suspected of the murder of Ingush journalist Amirkhan Kokurkhoev, crossed the border with Georgia. He is hiding in one of the European countries.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 1, Amirkhan Kokurkhoev, the press secretary for the Sunzha District administration in Ingushetia, a presenter of a local TV Channel, was stabbed and died in hospital. According to investigators, the murder was of domestic nature, and the prime suspect was Rizvan Kotiev, a neighbour of Amirkhan Kokurkhoev. On January 9, Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov reported that Interpol would be engaged in search for Rizvan Kotiev.

On January 2, sources from the law enforcement bodies reported that the suspect fled the scene together with his father Ruslan Djamaldinov. On January 5, the police detained Ruslan Djamaldinov. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), in the course of interrogation, he confessed to the crime and said it was him who inflicted a mortal wound to the journalist.

Rizvan Kotiev, declared wanted on suspicion of murdering Amirkhan Kokurkhoev, crossed the Georgian border with his second passport, the "Interfax" reports today with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia.

According to the preliminary information, from Georgia, Rizvan Kotiev went to Turkey, and from there to one of the European countries.
