Chechen Prosecutor's Office removes report about case against author of humorous video about Koran

The Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya has announced launching the investigation into the case of incitement to hatred or enmity against blogger Ilya Davydov who shot a humorous video about the Koran. The blogger himself claimed having no opportunity to carry out broadcasts on the Internet.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3, the Chechen Prosecutor's Office demanded to bring blogger Ilya Davydov, also known as Maddison, to criminal responsibility for the stage performance with jokes about the Koran and the Bible, dated back to the year of 2012.

YouTube published the humorous presentation of Ilya "Maddison" Davidov "The joke about the Koran" with duration of 2 minutes and 6 seconds. In the video, the blogger uses abusive language to tell the audience how he bought the Koran and went to a toilet room to read it, but found no toilet paper there.

On February 13, the website of the Chechen Prosecutor's Office announced institution of the criminal case against video blogger Ilya "Maddison" Davydov. Some time after its publication, the report was removed. However, the record still can be found in the news aggregator. At 10:30 a.m. Moscow time of February 14, the report was available on the website "News of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation."

The Prosecutor's Office announces appealing to the court for recognition of the video as extremist material.

In the evening of February 8, Ilya Davydov claimed that he had no opportunity to carry out broadcasts because of "the current situation."
